Course information
The course is designed to provide beginners with the skills and knowledge to use a basic sewing machine and to learn how to use basic stitch to create a simple textile item. This course will teach you how the sewing machine is used to make basic construction processes, including seam, darts, zips and other fastenings together with decorative skills such as applique, patchwork and simple machine embroidery.
The course gives students the opportunity to:
1. Acquire basic construction skills
2. Apply skills to the production of a simple item
3. Experiment with a number of creative textile techniques
4. Produce a number of creative samples and ideas for further development
This is a short non-accredited course commencing 9th September 2020
