Course informationThe Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities is designed to equip learners with the knowledge required in order to work with children and adults with a wide range of learning difficulties.
The course is designed for those who are currently working, or wish to work, in a job role that requires them to interact with individuals that have mild to severe learning difficulties. You will study a range of mandatory and optional units which will enable you to understand the context of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, looking at how to develop strategies to enable individuals with behavioural difficulties to change their behaviour, and support individuals in their relationships. You will develop the skills and knowledge required to support individuals in everyday tasks and in learning and development activities, whilst promoting communication in health, social care or children's and young people's settings.
QualificationsLevel 3 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
This course leads to...Level 4 HNC in Health or FDa in Early Years Practice or progression into employment as a care worker or healthcare assistant.
Entry RequirementsLevel 2 qualification or extensive industry experience
