What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a genuine job with an accompanying training assessment and skills development programme. It’s a way for individuals to earn while they learn and gain valuable skills and knowledge in a specific job role. The apprentice achieves this through a wide mix of learning in the workplace, formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to practise new skills in a real-work environment.

Apprenticeships benefit both employer and the individual, and by boosting the skills of the workforce, they also contribute towards improved economic productivity.

Who are they for?

Apprenticeships are available to individuals aged 16 and over who want to combine paid work with study, as they gain skills and knowledge in a specific job.

Apprentices can be new recruits or current employees, and we will either work with you to match your business needs with new applicants, or develop existing talent within your workforce.
