Former students of the Academy have a lot to say about what makes The City of Liverpool College a great place to learn…

Chelbylea

Courses: Level 2 Diploma, Level 3 Foundation Diploma (Uniformed Public Services) | Currently: Community Care Worker

During my time spent at The City of Liverpool College, I had the pleasure of studying with staff who want to bring out the best in people and provide the highest quality learning. I encountered many life changing experiences and people that will always shape who I am. I really enjoyed my two years at CoLC; it was a welcoming environment with a great sense of community. The City of Liverpool College helped me to become more independent and prepared me well for adult life. Support from the Personal Tutors and Advice and Guidance is readily available and helped direct me into my current job. I would definitely recommend CoLC if you are thinking about continuing in education.

Tara Penn-Kenny

Course: Level 3 Extended Diploma Public Services | Currently: Studying Law at The University of Liverpool (with a year abroad)

College gave me a wide range of knowledge and good perception on the Public Services, including career opportunities. The course raised my confidence and helped when applying for university. My advice to anyone thinking about joining the College is to just do it, but stay focused, work hard and always listen to your tutors.

Michaela McLaughlin

Course: Level 3 Extended Diploma Public Services | Currently: Studying Police Studies at Liverpool John Moores University

I chose the College because of its location and saw the course as a great stepping stone to where I want to be in the future. The knowledge and variety of topics covered and the many guest speakers from Public Services all helped us to make choices about our future. The staff are really supportive and understanding and want you to achieve. I hope to join the Police after my studies.

Aaron Phythian

Course: Level 3 Extended Diploma Public Services | Currently: Applying to Merseyside Police

I chose to study Public Services at the College on recommendations from family and friends who previously studied here. The course taught me the skills I need to move on to the world of work. My goal is to join the Police or with my results, I may still attend University. The tutors are very supportive and go that extra mile to help you get the best grades.
