What to expect from the course

Coding is what makes it possible for anyone to create computer software. Websites, apps, and social media are all made with code and it is a language that tells computers what action to perform.

This online qualification is designed for anyone who is looking to gain an introduction to coding. As the world is evolving digitally and the digital sector is growing, you will be given an insight into the principles of coding and how coding is used in practice for software development.

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.


Career pathways

On completion of this qualification you may wish to progress to the Level 3 in Coding Qualification, or perhaps one of our other IT related qualifications.

These type of qualifications can lead to employment in an IT related industry, support progression in your career or an opportunity to move in to this type of work.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be aged 19+, have at least a Level 1 in English and maths, good IT skills, access to a PC or laptop.

This course is only available to learners aged 19 and over.
If you are unemployed or earning less than £31,600 a year? You may qualify to join this course for free.
