GCSE/BTEC PROGRAMMES
If you’re aged 16-18 and looking to join a GCSE programme or a BTEC course, please check the following entry criteria before you apply:
GCSE Resit Programme:
– Must achieve 2 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above and have achieved Grade 3 in the subjects you choose to resit (if studied).
BTEC Science and Business:
– Must achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.
GCSE PATHWAYS
If you want to study GCSEs, there are three PATHWAYS to choose from. Subjects included in each pathway are predefined as follows:
Science Pathway:
- Maths
- English
- Science trilogy
Humanities Pathway:
- Maths
- English
- History
- Geography
Social Science Pathway:
- Maths
- English
- Sociology
- Psychology
A-LEVELS
If you have already achieved GCSE maths you can choose to sit higher maths; OR if you have maths or other GCSEs, you can also study our popular Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which allows you to broaden your abilities beyond the A-level syllabus and prepare for either university or your future career. An EPQ is worth half an A-level (28 UCAS points) so can be used to earn extra UCAS points.
