What to expect from the course

In 2019, a grand total of 5,738 individuals were referred to the Prevent programme, with the education sector constituting 33% of this figure. Safeguarding is a fundamental aspect of any position that entails working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.

This level 2 qualification, widely recognized throughout the nation, covers a range of important topics related to safeguarding. These include recognizing signs of abuse, understanding legal and ethical responsibilities, implementing efficient reporting procedures, and ensuring the well-being of children and young adults.

This comprehensive course is designed to cover the following 3 units in detail:
1. Understanding the Prevent duty: Gain a deep understanding of the legal responsibilities and obligations under the Prevent duty policy and learn how to effectively implement it to safeguard individuals and communities.
2. Understanding safeguarding: Explore the key principles and best practices of safeguarding, including recognizing and responding to signs of abuse, ensuring a safe environment, and promoting the well-being of vulnerable individuals.
3. Understanding online safety: Delve into the intricacies of online safety, including identifying potential risks, understanding digital citizenship, and implementing strategies to protect individuals from online threats.

By providing a thorough examination of these units, this course equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex landscape of safeguarding and online safety.

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.
