Holistic therapies are those concerned with treating the whole person rather than one specific aspect. This course is designed for students wishing to gain a formal qualification in Complementary Therapies allowing you to practise as a therapist. The content of the course comprises of the following disciplines: Aromatherapy, Body massage and Reflexology. As part of the Diploma you will also study:- Anatomy & Physiology, Business Studies and Health & safety legislation. Your tutor will assess you in one of the college's salons. The salon will reflect a realistic environment and you will be expected to work on real clients in a competent way in order to achieve each of the units. In addition you will need to complete a portfolio of evidence. The portfolio supports your practical expertise and shows that you understand the theoretical concepts behind the practical tasks that you are able to carry out. Due to the demands of the course home study is an ESSENTIAL requirement in order to achieve the qualification.

There is a natural progression to other related subjects in Reiki, Crystal Therapy and Colour Therapy.The qualification can also lead to employment within the industry and or self-employment or Higher Education.
Applicants must be 18 or over and be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of interpersonal skills as this is a customer focused industry.A reasonable level of Maths and English (Level 1) is desired.
