Course Details
- A T Level qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is eligible for UCAS points.
- This course includes a 9 week placement in industry with a relevant employer (21 weeks if you take the Early Years Educator specialism).
- This course is ideal for you if you want a career in early years education, childcare or assisting teaching.
- You'll be supported by expert tutors and progress leaders, as well as our learning support and wellbeing teams.
- The course takes 2 years and you'll study at our state-of-the-art city centre campus.
What to expect from the course
- This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in early years education, childcare or assisting teaching. Students can progress into roles such as: nursery worker, teaching assistant, playworker, learning mentor.
The T level programme is eligible for UCAS points. A T Level in Education is the equivalent to 3 A-levels and contains over 700 hours of Industry placement.
All students will develop an understanding of:
understanding the Education and Early Years sector from ages 0 to 19
child development
how to support children and young people’s education
safeguarding, health and safety and wellbeing
understanding and managing behaviour
observing and assessing children and young people
equality and diversity
special educational needs and disability
English as an additional language
working with parents, carers and wider families
working with agencies and services that support children, families and carers
reflective practice and other forms of professional development
As part of your study programme you will also take part in tutorials to develop life skills and build confidence to progress in your career journey. You will be supported in interview practice and CV writing, as well as transferable skills that can be taken into the workplace.

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Microsoft Office 365 - Free
When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.
Career pathways
- This qualification aims to provide students with a number of progression options. It could be higher level studies at university or college or employment, for example Primary Teacher Training (QTS) or work as a nursery nurse.

Entry Requirements
This qualification is designed for post 16 students.
Students must have achieved a grade 4 in English and Maths as well as three other Gcse's at grade 4 or above.
Fees
This course is only available to learners aged 16-18 at the start of the course and is free.
