Course information
This is a vocational (work related) course involving practical and theory based work. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you are interested in, you will develop the skills you need to start and/or further develop your education and career.
Core units you will be studying include - Working in engineering, Principles of engineering technology & Principles of fabrication and welding Technology.
Optional Units include: Welding by Manual Metal Arc process, Welding by Oxy-Acetylene process & Sheet metalwork fabrication of materials

Level 2 Diploma in Engineering – Fabrication and Welding Technology (2850-26)

Employment opportunities and apprenticeships in various engineering sectors. Progression to Level 3 Diplomas in Engineering.
Entry Requirements
A sound secondary education. A minimum of three GCSEs Grades 3-4 in Mathematics, Science, English or CDT. Students without any formal entry requirements but with appropriate work experience will be considered at interview. All students will sit an initial assessment.
