What to expect from the course
- About 300,000 patients develop an infection in England each year while being treated by the NHS. Protecting people from infection is a really important part of providing high-quality care, especially as some life-threatening infections can spread easily within care environments.
In this course, you will gain the skills you need to tackle the risk of infection in your workplace. The course covers procedures and regulations surrounding infection control, as well as the importance of maintaining a clean environment. As of 2020 this course has been updated to include knowledge of Covid-19.
Students will study the principles of the causes and spread of infection in healthcare settings, the importance of personal hygiene and health in the prevention and control of infection in healthcare settings, decontamination, cleaning and waste management in healthcare settings and infection prevention and control in a healthcare setting.Qualifications
On successful completion of the qualification you will have achieved an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Prevention & Control of Infection in Health Care Settings

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

To apply for this course you must be aged 19+, have at least a Level 1 English, good IT Skills and access to a PC or laptop.
