Course Details

  • Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:
  • business context – an overview of organisational cultures and values, different types of internal and external stakeholder, different forms of governance and the impact of organisations on society and the environment
  • project and change management – an understanding of the common change management theories and models and how to support and improve projects
  • business behaviours – the importance of good communication and adapting social communication styles to professional standards and according to purpose, medium and audience
  • quality and compliance – the importance of maintaining and improving quality in all aspects of public and private sector organisations

What to expect from the course

T Levels have been designed with leading businesses and employers to give you the knowledge and skills you need.

You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge companies look for.

This Level 3 technical qualification will provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the management and administration sector. The core knowledge and understanding will be assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer-set project. In addition to this, maths, English and general digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally-relevant contexts.

The qualification will help you gain an understanding of the management and administration sector and you will cover topics such as business context, people, quality compliance, project, and change management.

The core content for this T Level will cover the following areas:

Business and commercial awareness
Project management
Communication in business
Working with others
Applying a logical approach to problem solving
Undertaking research
Reflective practice

Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of, and skills in:
Supporting the overall running and operation of an organisation
Using prioritisation skills to support time management and delivery of workloads
Considering improvements and recommend ways to develop and improve business
practices
Developing effective communication with a range of stakeholders to support business
practices
Managing the flow of information through the organisation

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.


Career pathways

If you are thinking about a career working in management and administration and want to gain a qualification that will help you progress towards further study and jobs in this field, this new technical qualification will give you the foundation you need to set you on the path towards your ideal career. You will complete a Level 3 Technical Qualification in Management and Administration with an occupational specialism in Business Support
.
This course will enable you to progress into employment in a variety of roles, including Team Leader, Business Manager Management Consultant, Company Secretary, in a range of industries or alternatively you could progress into an Apprenticeship. You could also progress onto the College’s Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Business or Degree programmes in Marketing and Promotion, Law, Accounting and Finance and International Business at university.
If you are looking at a degree apprenticeship, this course could also be for you.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including Maths and English.

Fees

This course is only available to learners aged 16-18 at the start of the course and is free.
