L1 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is suitable for both 16-18 and adults students have no experience in the motor industry and would like a career change or an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills.
This level 1 programme is a great way to start your career. It enables you to develop the skills and confidence to progress in college and into work. You will develop a wide range of skills in your chosen subject area as well as gaining qualifications in English, Maths. You will be assessed for your English and Maths and work at the level that’s right for you.
The course is a blend of practical and written work which enables students to develop their potential. It is a springboard to a career in the vehicle repair industry. You will learn to service and repair a wide range of motor vehicles and will also gain experience of working with motor cycles.
The course covers a wide range of Vehicle systems from Health & Safety to an introduction to Vehicle Diagnostics.

- Grade 2/E or Entry 3 functional Skills in both English & Maths

For Adult students, you need to show that you have an interest in the area through interview
