What to expect from the course

On our Level 3 UAL Performing Arts Dance course, you will develop contemporary, current and relevant industry skills and knowledge as part of our forward-thinking artistic community. This high intensity course is offered to committed talented individuals with a strong work ethic and passion for Dance. You will be continuously supported in all genres of Dance including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and various Commercial styles including Heels. Alongside additional training in Singing, Acting and Acro skills from professionals in the industry.

This extensive timetable pushes our students to gain in confidence and to become the “Triple Threat” the industry demands. We realise singing and acting can be daunting for some students who have less experience, and we want to reassure all applicants that as teachers we are sensitive to this. We will provide you with the skills you need to adapt for the demands of an industry redefining itself in the post-COVID age.

We help you gain skills in discovering where you want to specialise, through research, practical and evaluative sessions, which will allow you to learn where you fit into the Dance industry. We place great emphasis on the process of production - from the start of a choreography task through to the realisation of performance – through a series of different modules aimed at nurturing and promoting your creative talent. You'll also be taught the skills you need to pass auditions so that you can continue your training with us onto our HE and BA Degree Courses or at one of the top dance schools or universities in the UK.

Training with us allows you to the freedom to experiment with a variety of different styles, methods and performances, enabling you to begin to compile a varied, industry-relevant CV. As of Summer 2021 you will participate in at least 2 shows a year in our newly refurbished, on site, state of the art theatre. Alongside various public and private performances offsite including a touring show where students will develop their choreographic skills to showcase. This can include a trip to the MOVEIT Convention in London with the possibility of class taken at the famous pineapple studios. Our faulty hope to take a group to the UDO Commercial Comps in Liverpool when they recommence to compete.

In a normal, non-COVID19 world, we would require all students across Performing Arts to engage with responsibilities such as Front of House, Ushering, Box Office and Backstage Assistance. In a COVID19 world, we have pressed the pause button on our theatre for now, whilst everyone gets used to the new requirements and measures being taken. This means we can really hone and refine your technique, knowledge and skills and build up to a fantastic 2021 Summer season!
