What to expect from the course
- A Vehicle Damage Panel Technician works within the Collision Repair Workshop, demonstrating working knowledge of removal, repair, and replacement of vehicle body panels on cars and light commercial vehicles. Our students will learn, among other things, expert technical knowledge, quality control processes, data interpretation, health & safety in the workshop, job preparation, personal discipline, and team working skills.
Earnings:
The National Minimum Wage for an Apprentice is £4.15 per hour - however most employers tend to pay significantly above this rate. As skills develop many employers tend to increase wages.
The hourly rate is paid for time working in the workplace and training both on and off the job including College time.
Apprentices aged 19 years or over who have already spent a year on an apprenticeship must be paid for at least the full National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age:
18-20 years £6.45 per hour
21-24 years £8.20 per hour
25 and over £8.72 per hour
Holidays:
Holidays will be agreed with the employer. The minimum entitlement is 20 days per year plus Bank Holidays.Qualifications

The City of Liverpool College will provide an Apprenticeship Training Manual for each student, access to C&G Smart Screen online learning resources, access to online EPA preparation tool personalised to the individual student and additional EPA pack and guidance. The College will also ensure that tuition for any additional Maths and English qualifications required will be provided to the level required for the standard.

Microsoft Office 365 - Free
When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements
Will be determined by the employer - typicall y 5 GCSE's grade A-C, progression from L2 App renticeship or ability to demonstrate the app ropriate knowledge, skills and competency lev els. An interest in vehicles and mechanics is highly beneficial.
Fees
All fees will be paid by your employer. Employers should contact the Apprenticeship team directly for more information, as fees vary based on a number of factors.
