Data Protection

General Data Protection Regulation

You may be asked to give the College personal information about yourself to become a student, this is necessary for us to record any studies and qualifications you undertake and also enable you to use our systems and services.

The information you give will only be used in the ways described in our privacy notices below:


Education and Skills Funding Agency Privacy Notice

The information you supply is used by the Education and Skills Funding Agency, an executive agency of the Department for Education (DfE), to issue you with a Unique Learner Number (ULN) and to create your Personal Learning Record, as part of the functions of the DfE. For more information about how your information is processed, and to access your Personal Learning Record, please refer to: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/lrs-privacy-notices

To support you throughout your studies, we may also ask for more detailed information about yourself. In this case, we will ask for your consent to record and use this information.

The College is registered with the Information Commissioners Office as a provider of education and training. All records held by the College are processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which governs our responsibilities in collecting, storing and using your information.

If you would like a copy of your personal data held by the College (also known as a Subject Access Request), send a request in writing to the following email address: gdpr@liv-coll.ac.uk


Data Breach

A data breach equates to the loss or disclosure of student/staff personal data in paper or electronic format, or the loss/theft of equipment (mobile phone/laptop etc) on which the data is stored.
