Car Sharing Scheme

A car sharing scheme puts people travelling in the same direction in contact with each other.  This not only allows them to arrange travel and share costs but also helps to reduce congestion and pollution on our roads. The programme also offers greater personal security in the event of a breakdown and helps to build social networks across the Group by putting you in contact with staff outside your immediate work area.

City Centre Parking Scheme

The College has secured a preferential rate with Secure Parking for staff wishing to purchase a monthly parking permit. The car park is located in Heathfield Street L1 4AT (access gained via Renshaw Street).

The car park offers 24/7 secure parking at a discounted monthly rate of £80. The scheme operates on a rolling monthly basis with a minimum term of 3 months. 1 months’ notice is required to end the arrangement.

Cycle to Work Scheme

The College Group offers a Ride-to-Work scheme through Evans Cycles. This promotes cycling through tax incentives to give you great savings across a range of bikes, clothing and accessories.  As well as savings of up to 42%, Ride-to-Work also offers up to £60 worth of free clothing or accessories, and free servicing for the first 12 months.

Long Service Award

A Long Service Award recognises staff who have been employed at the College for 25 years. This is presented in the form of a £300 gift voucher.

Pension Scheme

There are currently four occupational pension schemes administered by the College Group. These include the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS); the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS); Nest Pensions; and the Aviva Pension Scheme.

Your pension provider will depend upon the role undertaken within the College. Pension contributions will be paid by The College Group, in addition you will also get tax relief on your own contributions.

Travel Loan Scheme

The College Group offers an interest free loan to enable staff to purchase annual travel tickets from both Merseytravel and Merseyrail. Purchasing annual tickets can often realise a financial benefit (up to two months free travel) compared to the purchase of monthly tickets. This scheme allows staff to access the financial benefit without having to personally fund the cost of the ticket up front.

Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Staff Network

A Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff network was setup in June 2021 and we are eager to expand our membership so that we can be representative of BAME staff voices from across the College. Our aim is to support staff that identify as BAME by raising awareness of race equality across the College, and to promote the creation of a working and learning environment in which all staff, students and stakeholders feel welcome, comfortable, respected and valued.

Membership is open to all BAME staff including bank and agency workers, and anybody wishing to join can do so at any time.
