Why get accredited?

In order to work in the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regs. 1998, all gas operatives are legally required to:

  1. have undertaken suitable ACS gas courses
  2. hold a valid ACS certificate of competence
  3. be registered with the Gas Safe Register.

Registered engineers are issued with a Gas Safe Register ID card to show they are competent and safe to work with gas.

We are a registered ACS Assessment Centre! 

The City of Liverpool College is an approved ACS Assessment Centre offering an extensive range of gas courses and training packages to either experienced installers looking to renew the ACS qualification, or new entrants wanting to become a Gas Safe Registered operative. 

The ACS scheme is overseen by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
