What to expect from the course
- This intermediate level course prepares you for a career in the Health and Social Care sector. You will be led by dedicated tutors with experience in a variety of sectors.
The aim of this course is to provide you with knowledge and understanding of core subject areas in health and social care, giving you access to further studies or a position within the workplace.
There will be an opportunity to attend work placement, where you can gain hands-on experience of your sector, alongsside the support of your tutor.
This qualification will be graded A*-D and will be assessed using a range of methods. After gaining your qualification, this will give you an opportunity to work within the health and care sector as a health care assistant.Qualifications

Microsoft Office 365 - Free
When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.
Onsite Sports Facilities/Fitness Suite
The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.
Career pathways
- This qualification will allow you to work within the health and care sector as a health care assistant.
Following your successful completion of this course, you could also go on to study other Level 3 qualifcations such as health and social care, before university subjects in nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals.

3 GCSEs including English and Maths grade D or 3
Two satisfactory references (essential)

If you are 16-18 years old at the start of your course, studying at The City of Liverpool College is free.
