Level 3, 12-week course VTCT accredited - with an additional College Certificate of attendance.
You will gain advanced and current industry experience which will propel you to be able to pursue a career within TV/Film or Salon based.
Ideal for anyone wanting to either specialise in Afro textured hair or become confident with all textures of hair.

What to expect from the course?

At the city of Liverpool College, you will be introduced into the wonderful world of The Artistry of Afro Textured hair. This course will be fast paced and creative. The aim is to develop your skills to an advanced level and help equip you with the in-depth knowledge you will need in the understanding of working with Afro Textured hair.
From learning about the science behind the strand and each individual unique curl pattern, to product knowledge, current, natural, organic and effective that are on the market to promote protection, healthy hair and scalp. The knowledge you acquire from this course will provide you with the building blocks and skills needed to achieve the very best style and finish looks, using a variety of traditional methods and techniques.
This course will not only equip you with the skills for Session styling & Editorial but also enable you to work salon based creating every day wearable looks for your clients.
You will learn how to capture natural textures in all their glory as well as demonstrate a wide range of setting, blow drying and protective styles using a variety of tools and equipment, including braids twists, and attaching wefts to cane rows.
You will learn about confident client consultation, texture and curl assessment, fluid freehand cutting, as well as selective curl cutting with a 3-dimensional vision.
We will provide you with a wealth of knowledge surrounding understanding how historical, cultural, social and technological advances have impacted the hair industry. And you will delve into how products, tools and equipment have evolved over time, and the impact that the media has had on the hair industry

Academy Restaurant

Duke Street campus is also home to the College’s Academy Restaurant. Often referred to by it’s customers as Liverpool’s hidden gem, the restaurant serves top class cuisine, at highly competitive prices. Food is expertly prepared by professional chef/tutors and young chefs in training and offers students a range of discounts at different times of the year.

When you become a student of the College you’ll receive full access to Microsoft Office 365. This allows you to install the software on your own computer and other devices at home, completely free of charge.

The college has excellent sports and fitness facilities at its Roscoe Street campus. Students pay a one-off membership fee for all year round usage of weekly supervised gym sessions, as well as access to a number of sporting clubs and events.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of a Level 2 course in Hairdressing. Prospective students may be asked to sit an initial assessment to determine their current levels of literacy and numeracy, if they do not fit into the above category. It is essential that applicants demonstrate an appropriate level of inter-personal skills as this is a customer focused industry and be able to express themselves clearly and show a passion for the course and its content.

Fees

This course is only available to learners aged 19 and over. Fees are payable by all students unless sponsored by an employer.

Fee for23/24 is 400.00
