Employability

‘Development of employability skills is achieved by working with local employers and professional bodies.’

Employability skills are embedded in many aspects of the College curriculum. We develop these by working closely with local employers and professional bodies to keep up with any changes and advances in each sector, and adapt course content accordingly.

Throughout your time with us, there will be many opportunities to take part in work placements, internships and work-related activities. These allow you to get a feel of how the industry works and what an employer expects from you.

Support in securing employment is also given in CV preparation sessions, employability tutorials and interview skills, and there is also a dedicated employability section on the College’s student intranet.

As part of our overall aim to ensure that you leave us work ready, the College supports teaching staff to be actively involved in their industry, to keep up to date with sector practices and maintain industry links.  Passing on the knowledge and insights makes sure you’re ahead of the game in what the industry expects from new recruits.
